Lightweight FRP
domes substantially reduce the structural requirements and thus cost for building
foundations |
The universally acclaimed Grand Mosque
dome in Bahrain, one of the largest FRP mosque domes in the world, is a true testimony to
the skill and quality of BFG workmanship and to the versatility of composite materials.
The double-hemisphere, fire retardant dome has a
simulated stone finish to match the artificial stone of the main building. It measures
twenty-five meters in diameter and is thirty-two meters high.
A guarantee of thirty years has been undertaken
by BFG, an indication of our confidence in our workmanship and the durability of
glass-fiber reinforced plastics.
