State-of-the-Art Facility
Spanning 9,500 square metres, BFG Africa's state-of-the-art facility exemplifies lean manufacturing with its skilled workers and top-tier equipment. Since its inauguration in June 2018, the plant performs a wide range of FRP processes including open contact moulding, resin transfer moulding, press moulding, vacuum infusion, sheet moulding compound, and painting. This enables BFG Africa to provide full-service advanced composite solutions.
BFG Africa's advanced capabilities include two substantial 1,500-ton presses and an in-house sheet moulding composite (SMC) production line. The SMC products meet strict fire and smoke standards while maintaining exceptional dimensional accuracy -- ideal for the railway and automotive sectors. These industry-leading presses enable BFG Africa to produce high-quality composites that adhere to the most demanding quality benchmarks.

Driving Localisation and Innovation in South African Rail
BFG Africa is proud to share its localisation success story as a Tier 1 supplier for Alstom and Gibela's state-of-the-art rail transport project. Under an initial contract with the Gibela Rail Transport Consortium, BFG Africa supplies interior cladding for 600 commuter trains being manufactured for South Africa's Passenger Rail Agency (PRASA) over a 10-year period.
