BFG International was proud to participate as a Silver Sponsor of the 19th Middle East Corrosion Conference and Exhibition (MECC), held at Dhahran Expo, Dammam, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from 11 to 13 November 2025.
Organised by the Materials Engineering Association, the AMPP Dhahran Saudi Arabia Chapter and the Bahrain Society of Engineers, MECC has been the region's principal forum for corrosion mitigation since 1979, gathering delegates and industry leaders from around the world for a biennial programme of technical workshops, expert keynotes and an exhibition showcasing the latest products, solutions and advancements in the corrosion field.
This year's technical programme spanned four tracks closely aligned with BFG's areas of expertise:
- Digital Solutions for Resilient and Efficient Systems - big-data corrosion management, AI-driven material innovation, IoT integration with smart materials, and circular-economy connections between materials, data and innovation.
- Emerging Developments in Advanced Materials - hydrogen transportation and storage, carbon capture, utilisation and storage technologies, graphene and graphite, next-generation carbon-fibre applications, and self-healing and phase-change quantum materials.
- Corrosion Management and Asset Integrity - corrosion in downhole, upstream production and transmission pipelines, refining and petrochemical industries, asset inspection and monitoring, maritime fabrication, and corrosion mitigation through protective coatings and cathodic protection.
- Future Trends in Materials for Energy and Construction - non-metallic and composite solutions for oil and gas, sustainable materials in construction and transportation, advances in metallic materials and welding, and additive manufacturing for energy and infrastructure.
BFG's participation aligned naturally with MECC's focus on non-metallic and composite materials for the energy and infrastructure sectors, reflecting four decades of expertise in advanced composite manufacturing for harsh and corrosive environments.
