Diversified composites manufacturer BFG International has officially opened a new manufacturing facility in Ekurhuleni, South Africa, to supply fiberglass components for railway projects.
The R50-million factory represents a significant investment in Africa's manufacturing capability and positions BFG to serve the growing demand for composite components in the continent's expanding rail networks.
The facility's primary focus is supplying fiberglass components for the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa's (PRASA) new trains, working in partnership with Alstom on one of the largest rail transportation projects in the world.
BFG Africa manufactures composite front ends, interior panels, and other structural components, bringing world-class composite manufacturing capability to the African continent for the first time.
